I am a Family Law Consultant Solicitor  at Scott-Moncrieff & Associates Ltd and I have over 10 years of family law experience in:

I specialise in many areas of family law and I am experienced in advising on complex matters relating to children, divorce and financial matters.

I am the Head of the Nottingham branch office of Scott-Moncrieff & Associates Ltd which is located in West Bridgford.

I am also happy to take on instructions nationwide and I am happy to work with clients to ensure that they get a great service, whether they are local or not.

I can help with matters relating to child contact disputes, where there are concerns about the level of contact a parent is having with their children or helping to allow a parent to have contact with their child where this has broken down.

I have experience in helping with cases where there are welfare concerns, where one parent is worried that the non-resident parent having contact may harm the child or children.

I also specialise in divorce, separation and financial settlements  which includes considering the division of matrimonial assets and negotiating   financial settlements, following a separation or the breakdown of a relationship.

I have particular experience in dealing with divorces where a marriage has taken place aboard or where there are difficulties in establishing a former spouse’s address for service of court documentation.

During my career, I have come across many situations where parties may be unsure as to whether their marriage is legal, particularly if only a religious ceremony has taken place. I can advise you on whether your marriage is a legal and what your rights would be in the event that this may not be the case.

I can also advise you in respect of making a claim for a dowry and/or the return of gold items following the breakdown of a marriage within an Asian community.

  • I am a member of the Society of Asian Lawyers and I speak fluent Punjabi and I have considerable experience in dealing with divorces where one party may be living abroad or where a case involves cultural issues.
  • In 2004 I was appointed the Secretary of a women’s refuge committee management, a role which I voluntarily undertook for a period 5 years. This provided me with great insight into the issues surrounding domestic abuse.
